Terazosin IP 2mg is a prescription medicine containing terazosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels, helping blood flow more easily and lowering blood pressure. It can also relax muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet, helping relieve urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), when prescribed for this purpose. Doctors may prescribe Terazosin 2mg tablets for hypertension (high blood pressure) or urinary difficulties related to an enlarged prostate, depending on the patient's condition and prescribed treatment plan. The medicine may help reduce symptoms such as a weak urine stream, difficulty starting urination, and frequent urination associated with BPH. It does not cure an enlarged prostate.

Follow the prescribed dose: Take only the strength and number of tablets directed by your healthcare professional. Terazosin 2mg is not necessarily the correct starting dose; treatment commonly begins with a lower dose to reduce the risk of a sudden drop in blood pressure. Take it at the instructed time: Your doctor may recommend taking the medicine at bedtime, especially when starting treatment or restarting after an interruption, because dizziness and fainting can occur. Swallow the tablet as directed: Take it with water and follow the instructions on the product packaging. Follow your prescribed schedule consistently. Rise slowly: Move carefully when getting out of bed or standing up from a chair. Sit or lie down if you feel dizzy or light-headed. Do not double the dose: If you miss a dose, ask your pharmacist or doctor how to proceed. If treatment has been interrupted for several days, contact your doctor before restarting, as a lower starting dose may be needed. Monitor your response: Attend follow-up appointments and check your blood pressure when advised. Report persistent dizziness, weakness, fainting, or other unusual symptoms. Check other medicines: Inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements you use, especially other blood pressure medicines and erectile dysfunction treatments.
