Medicine information

Uses & overview

Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops are lubricating ophthalmic drops designed to provide temporary relief from dry, irritated, burning, or uncomfortable eyes. The combination of Polyethylene Glycol 400 and Propylene Glycol helps moisturize the ocular surface and provides a protective layer that can reduce discomfort associated with dry-eye symptoms. These artificial tear eye drops may be useful when dryness is related to prolonged screen exposure, air conditioning, dust, wind, environmental conditions, or reduced natural tear production.

How to use

Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops are lubricating eye drops used to relieve symptoms of dry, burning, irritated, or uncomfortable eyes. Use them according to your doctor’s instructions or the directions provided on the product label. Wash your hands: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before applying the eye drops. Check the bottle: Verify the product name, strength, and expiry date. Do not use the drops if the container is damaged. Shake if required: If the product label instructs you to shake the bottle, gently shake it before each application. Prepare your eye: Tilt your head backward or lie down comfortably and gently pull the lower eyelid downward to create a small pocket. Apply the drops: Hold the bottle close to your eye without touching the dropper tip to the eye, eyelashes, eyelids, or surrounding skin. Instill the recommended number of drops. Close your eye: Gently close your eye for a short period after application. Avoid rubbing or squeezing the eye. Prevent contamination: Replace the cap securely after use and keep the dropper tip clean. Do not share the bottle with another person. Follow the recommended schedule: Use the drops as frequently as advised by your doctor or according to the product instructions.

PregnancyConsult your doctor

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect that you are pregnant, consult your doctor before using Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops. Your healthcare professional can assess your symptoms and confirm whether the product is appropriate during pregnancy.

BreastfeedingConsult your doctor

If you are breastfeeding, inform your doctor or pharmacist before using Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops. These lubricating ingredients are administered directly to the eyes and systemic exposure is expected to be low when used correctly, but professional advice is recommended.

DrivingConsult your doctor

Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops may temporarily cause blurred vision immediately after application. Avoid driving, cycling, or operating machinery until your vision becomes clear. If blurred vision continues or significantly affects your eyesight, consult an eye-care professional.

KidneyConsult your doctor

Polyethylene Glycol 400 & Propylene Glycol Eye Drops are applied directly to the eye, and systemic absorption is generally expected to be limited. Kidney disease is therefore unlikely to significantly affect their use. However, inform your doctor about any kidney condition before treatment.
