Medicine information

Uses & overview

Etodolac & Thiocolchicoside is a combination medicine prescribed by doctors for short-term relief of painful muscle and joint conditions. You can buy Etodolac & Thiocolchicoside online from a licensed pharmacy with a valid prescription and get it delivered to your doorstep anywhere in India. This combination works in two ways. Etodolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation by blocking the chemicals that trigger them. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that eases muscle tightness, stiffness, and spasm, helping you move more freely. Together, they target both the inflammation and the muscle tension behind your pain. It is commonly prescribed for lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica-related spasm, sprains, muscle strain, post-injury pain, and painful muscle contractions. It is meant for short-term use only, for the period your doctor advises.

How to use

This medicine should be used only under medical supervision and for the shortest time needed. Follow the points below along with your doctor’s instructions. Dosage: Take the dose exactly as prescribed by your doctor. A commonly prescribed dose is one tablet twice a day, but your doctor will decide the right amount for your condition. Never increase the dose on your own. Best time to take: Take it after food or with a meal. This reduces the risk of acidity, stomach pain, and irritation caused by Etodolac. Space the doses about 12 hours apart if taken twice daily. How to swallow: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it unless your doctor tells you to. Duration of use: Use it for the shortest time possible. It is meant for short-term relief, and treatment is usually limited to about 7 days, as thiocolchicoside should not be used for long periods. Do not continue it longer than advised. Avoid other painkillers: Do not take other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, or aspirin at the same time unless your doctor approves. Missed dose: Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never take a double dose.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and keep out of reach of children.

Important guidance

Safety advice

Check with your doctor
AlcoholConsult your doctor

Avoid alcohol completely while taking Etodolac & Thiocolchicoside. Alcohol increases drowsiness and dizziness from thiocolchicoside and raises the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding with Etodolac. Tell your doctor honestly about your drinking habits before starting treatment.

PregnancyConsult your doctor

This combination is not recommended during pregnancy. Thiocolchicoside has shown possible risk to the unborn baby in animal studies, and NSAIDs like Etodolac can harm the baby, especially in later pregnancy. Your doctor will suggest a safer option. Do not self-medicate.

BreastfeedingConsult your doctor

Avoid this medicine while breastfeeding. Thiocolchicoside may pass into breast milk and is not considered safe for a nursing baby, and Etodolac may also reach the baby in small amounts. Please ask your doctor for a safer alternative for pain relief.

DrivingConsult your doctor

This medicine can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and tiredness in some people, especially at the start of treatment. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or doing tasks that need full alertness until you know how it affects you. Do not drive if you feel sleepy.

KidneyConsult your doctor

Use with caution if you have kidney problems. Etodolac, like other NSAIDs, can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and worsen kidney function. It is usually avoided in significant kidney disease. Your doctor may monitor your kidney function. Do not take it without medical advice.

LiverConsult your doctor

Use with caution if you have liver disease, as Etodolac is processed by the liver and may rarely cause liver enzyme changes. Your doctor may adjust the dose or check your liver function. Stop it and seek help if you notice yellow eyes or dark urine.
