Lamotrigine Dispersible 50 mg is a prescription medicine belonging to the anticonvulsant class. It is used to treat certain types of epilepsy and may be prescribed for maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder in eligible patients to help delay the recurrence of mood episodes. The suitability of this medicine depends on the patient's diagnosis, age, medical history, and individual treatment requirements. Lamotrigine works primarily by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels and reducing the release of certain excitatory neurotransmitters, helping stabilise abnormal electrical activity in the brain. How to use
