Medicine information

Uses & overview

Gabapentin & Methylcobalamin is a combination medicine used under medical supervision to help manage certain types of neuropathic pain, or pain caused by nerve damage. It combines gabapentin, a medicine that reduces abnormal nerve signaling, with methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12 that supports normal nerve function and nerve cell maintenance. Gabapentin may help relieve symptoms such as burning pain, tingling, shooting sensations, and discomfort associated with certain nerve conditions. Methylcobalamin contributes to vitamin B12-dependent neurological functions and may be particularly relevant when vitamin B12 deficiency is present. However, the benefits of this combination depend on the underlying condition, formulation, and individual response.

How to use

ollow the prescribed dose: Take the medicine in the exact amount and at the times recommended by your doctor. Do not change the dosage independently. Maintain a consistent schedule: Take each dose at the recommended time. If multiple daily doses are prescribed, follow the schedule provided by your healthcare professional. Follow food instructions: The medicine may be taken with or without food depending on the specific formulation. Check the product leaflet or ask your pharmacist. Swallow tablets appropriately: Take tablets or capsules with water. Do not crush, split, or open them unless your pharmacist confirms that it is suitable for your particular product. Handle missed doses carefully: Follow the patient information leaflet or contact your pharmacist for advice. Never take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose. Inform your doctor about other medicines: Sleeping tablets, opioid pain medicines, and other sedatives may increase the risk of excessive sedation or breathing difficulties. Do not stop suddenly: Abruptly discontinuing gabapentin may cause withdrawal symptoms or increase seizure risk in susceptible individuals. Your doctor can guide a gradual reduction when appropriate.
