Topiramate is a prescription medicine belonging to the anticonvulsant class. It is primarily used to treat certain types of epilepsy and prevent migraine headaches in patients for whom the treatment is appropriate. Depending on the diagnosis, it may be prescribed alone or alongside other antiepileptic medicines to help control seizures. When used for migraine prevention, Topiramate may reduce the frequency of attacks over time, but it is not intended to provide immediate relief from an active migraine. How to use
